On May 23, Moldova celebrated the International Olympic Day.
The National Olympic and Sports Committee of the Republic of Moldova organized the traditional event dedicated to sport and Olympic values – Olympic Fest 2015. For the second year in a row, Karate was part of it, represented by the National Karate Federation of the Republic of Moldova. Among other sports present in the capital’s Central Square was shooting, fencing, tennis, table tennis, wrestling, football, athletics, boxing and basketball.
Over 15 000 participants from all over the country gathered in Chisinau to enjoy the festival.
The success of the Olympic Fest 2014 placed Moldova among the 4 countries in the world selected by IOC as role-models for celebrating the Olympic Day.
