On the increase this year, the 13th EKF Championships for Regions, organized in France for the first time, have kept all their promises. Despite the proximity to the first European Games to be held in Baku next weekend, 141 teams from 22 countries made the trip to defend the colors of their regions. The European Championships of Regions, which was the 13th, is a team competition only. Created in 2003 by the European Karate Federation (EKF), the championship is organized every year. It is the only international team competition allowing regions to fight under their own colors.

 France is the first nation with 4 gold medals and 2 bronze medals, Spain is second nation (2/0/5) and Turkey is third nation (1/3/0).
