Last 3-4 October the Mediterranean Karate Championships were held in Alexandria, Egypt, with the participation of a total of 157 athletes from 10 countries:

At the occasion of this event, the Mediterranean Karate Federations Union (MKFU) held its Executive Committee Meeting. Some decisions were approved by the MKFU EC following the proposals of the President, Mr. Bechir Cherif:
– Placing by appointment the EC member Mr. Abdallah Salah as a Treasurer in the absence of treasurer Manos Demetriades
– Appointing Mr. Murat Colakoglu as the head of the Organising Committee for next years’ Championships in Rabat, Morocco
– Appointing Mr. Yacine Arab as assistant to the President
– Spain will organise the MKFU Senior Cup as a preparation of the athletes to compete in the 2017 Mediterranean Games in Tarragona, Spain
Furthermore, the EC also decided that the Championships shall be organised every year in the month of September – October, taking into account the WKF calendar. The bulletin for the Championships will have to be sent by the host country latest in the month of May of the year the competition is taking place.
Next years’ edition of the Mediterranean Karate Championships in 2016 will be celebrated in Rabat, Morocco.
